Decision Making of Oil Palm Farmers in Choosing Rejuvenation Partners in Siak District

Smallholder oil palm plantations in Riau have reached their economic age (25 years), resulting decreased plantation productivity. One alternative to overcome this problem is rejuvenation (OPR). In implementing rejuvenation, there are two prominent partner institutions, the Village Unit Cooperative (VUC) and Nucleus Estate-Smallholding (NES). As main actors, farmers position choose institutions for rejuvenation. The purpose of study was find out differences between technology packages carried by VUC NES, identify factors that influence farmers' decisions choosing an institution. This research conducted Kerinci Kanan District, Siak Regency. data analysis used descriptive binary logistic regression. NES partners several differences, including types seeds, number plants per hectare, spacing, production potential, BPDPKS support, amount interest paid, OPR budget plan, sources funds. decision-making institutional perceptions income, presence extension services, rights obligations.
